Fundamentals of Lighting (FOL-15)

The Tidewater Virginia Section is offering the FOL-15 Fundamentals of Lighting course as part of the ongoing efforts to promote education in the art and science of lighting. This comprehensive ten module lighting course provides a complete foundation in basic lighting principles and conveys 20 professional development hours. It is designed to provide sound lighting knowledge in an easy to understand fashion. FOL-15 offers a great opportunity for those entering the lighting industry as interior designers, lighting designers, engineers, architects, sales agents, manufacturers, retrofitters, or electrical contractors.

The FOL-15 course is an introductory survey of the principal issues in lighting.  Vision, color, and the physiology of the eye are included, as well as illumination terminology.  Sources, photometry, and calculations are discussed, and further information about luminaires, controls and specific applications will be provided.   This set of ten instructional lessons is ideal for those who have only basic awareness of lighting and professionals who want a thorough overview of the field.  As a refresher course in lighting, there is no equal for those seeking to enhance their careers and personal growth. Class size is limited to provide quality learning for attendees. Please reserve your space as soon as possible.
